ROUTINE CARE

Keep it
working.

These are the maintenance items STB owners ask about most. Intervals and procedures depend on your truck and installed equipment, so follow the documents supplied with it.

HOIST & BODY

Greasing the body and hoist

Regular greasing of the hoist and body pivot points, hinges and latches keeps the bed operating smoothly and quietly.

TARP

Replacing a tarp

Tarps are a wear item and generally need replacing every few months. Keep one or two spares per truck so a torn tarp does not stop the day.

HYDRAULICS

Adding fluid to the dump system

Keep the dump system's hydraulic fluid at the correct level, using the fluid specified for your hoist. Contact STB if you are unsure which fluid to use.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When something
will not work.

Contact STB with your company name, truck details and a description of the problem. Photos or a short video help us respond faster.

Bed will not go up

Stop operating the hoist and contact STB with your truck details. Do not work under a raised bed without a body prop in place.

Bed will not go down

Make sure the bed and hoist are clear, then contact STB. Never work under a raised bed without a body prop in place.

Tarp will not operate

Clear any tangle or jam before operating the tarp again so it does not tear, then contact STB if it still will not run.

Bed is noisy when operating

Noise is most often a greasing issue. If noise continues after greasing the pivots and hinges, contact STB.
